Method and Data AnalysisThe sample was (simple) random where participants were personally contactedand a confidentiality agreement was established with them. Subsequently, participantscompleted the protocol that was delivered. Each protocol questionnaire had standardinstructions and participants were asked to respond under the option they felt wasmost relevant to them. It was clear to the participants that there were no right andwrong answers. After completing the set of questions, they were asked to return thequestionnaires. Administration of the pr otocol lasted 25 minutes. The study intends to determine the effect of leisure in distress and psychologicalwell-being. Thus, it seems essential the analysis of the contribution that participationin leisure activities have on well-being of aged people. Putting in evidence the sociodemographicvariables (covariables) that are significant, it will be used the MultivariateAnalyses of Covariance (MANCOVA) conducted to examine differences betweengroups (Netter, Wasserman, & Kutner, 1990). It was verified to examine differencesbetween groups by controlling the influence of possible parasitic variables (covariates).Post-hoc test also was tested (Bonferroni adjustment for multiple comparisons).
